If I had a fiver for every woman who’s every told me she’d love to spend more time in her garden, getting her hands in the soil and growing beautiful things, but she just doesn’t have time. I’d have more in the bank than Taylor Swift!
Perhaps you’re nodding your head along, because you find yourself constantly saying ‘I don’t have time’.
You’d really love some calm, some peace, some time thats just for you so you can feel less overwhelmed and harangued. You’d love to do something that quiets your mind so you feel less like your head is about to explode with all the noise in there.
But you feel like you don’t have any time. That no matter how hard you try things still don’t get done even when you really really want them to.
You tell yourself when work is less busy or when the kids are older, then you’ll have some more free time to do the things that you want.
As adults we haven’t really been taught to do things for us for fun throughout our lives. Society expects us to just work and work and only in retirement can we enjoy our spoils and have fun.
And yet as 30/40 year olds we've probably got at least another 40 years of work ahead of us. Isn’t it about time that we started prioritising a life that includes rest, space and joy and not just work, work, work.
It’s not the same system that we were sold growing up, because we'll be working for significantly longer than our parents did. So we have to find ways to fit pockets of rest and ways to replenish our energy into our daily lives.
Otherwise we are on the fast train to burnout.
Which is where my weekly mindful gardening activities come in.
Designed to fit into 5, 20 or 60 minute slots, so that you can find joy and have fun every day in amongst work, putting yet another wash on and taking care of the kids.
You can join today for just £5 a month. Or commit to finding fun in your everyday for a whole year for just £50.
And the best bit is my lovely growing paid community have already started sharing pics from their garden, asking me for advice (one of the paid subscriber perks) and holding each other accountable to take that regular time for them. Come and join in by clicking the upgrade button above!
