Hi darling, I’m Kendall, a horticultural therapist. Here on my Substack, I share tips on how to use your garden to grow your confidence and power in a world that tries to keep women stuck, exhausted and burnt out. Come grab your trowel and join the rebellion, we’ve got a patriarchy to dismantle.
Welcome to the Seed, the place where we learn to resource ourselves in the garden so that we can unlock more joy in our lives and change the world for future generations of women.
My eyes lit up as I saw the huge collection of sad looking plants sat looking at me in the garden centre. I’d taken myself out for a little mooch and a slice of solitude.
Wintery days stuck in the house with the kids always have me feeling overwhelmed (there’s only so much crafting or playing schools that I can handle). And after a really long time of grinning and bearing it, resulting in me being shouty mum, I’ve finally accepted that I need space and time for myself to just be on my own.
So there I am in the garden centre, feeling vulnerable and craving that dopamine hit I get every time I spend money on plants. But before I dive in like a hungry blackbird pecking for worms, I stop and I remember my 5 point plan that stops me wasting money on plants that will not survive.
