Is this the real reason your garden still looks a mess?
You're telling yourself you don't have the time but there's something deeper going on.
You want to create a beautiful garden yourself so you can get all the calming and relaxation benefits it brings.
But you feel like you don’t have the time, the knowledge or the space in your life to actually make it happen.
But that’s not really the problem here.
The real problem is that you’re worried it’s going to go wrong and what that will mean about you. You’re worried that by taking time for you, others will say you’re selfish and only care about yourself.
As women since day dot we’ve been told we have to do everything perfectly and by the book otherwise we’ll be in trouble.
From primary school age we’re told to tow the line, do the maths worksheet, sit down and shut up. There is zero room for experimentation, for creativity or for flexing the muscles that allow you to trust in your own intuition.
And there is certainly no room to claim time for yourself. What will other people think? Won’t they judge you and start saying you’re an awful person? Well do you know what, they just might.
I get it, it feels safer to stay small and not even start. To not take up space and carve out 5 minutes for yourself.
But is it safer though? Is it safer to never start, never access that headspace, keep going and going until you burnt out?
Are we really winning if we’re letting people pleasing, fear of failure, fear of rejection, fear of other’s judgement drive the bus?
I think you know the answer.
Wouldn’t you rather grow the skills that foster trust and self-belief? Wouldn’t you rather grow your own power and make sure that you like yourself before worrying about whether others do? In order to do that you need time and space. Taking that first step and going after something you want is scary, but in doing so you’ll tell your brain and body that you deserve more.
You can create a garden and reap all of those lovely health and wellbeing benefits in 5 mins a day but you need a clear plan and you need support to help you keep your boundaries with yourself until it becomes second nature.
It’s the least you deserve today on the day of love and everyday.
Here’s where you can get it:
