Things to do this week in your garden- 15th December 2024
Mindful Gardening and Floristry activities to calm your mind and soothe your soul
Missed Santa visits (thanks Storm Darragh), onboarding new clients and meeting lovely local businesswomen in real life have been the features of my week.
So a real mixed bag with highs and lows as most weeks go. The garden, yes even in this weather, has been helping me navigate the disappointment of not seeing Santa and dealing with upset kids because of it. It’s also where I took myself to celebrate a lovely new Garden Glow Up client taking charge of her builder-ravaged garden. And to process my nerves around getting up and talking about what I do in a room full of women i’d never met before.
If you’ve been here a while you’ll know i’m not shy about talking about why growing your gardening confidence, so you can actually get out in your garden regularly and feel less burnt out, is so important. But my usual medium is talking or typing into my phone or laptop rather than face-to-face which feels somehow altogether more vulnerable.
But i’ve promised myself that 2025 is the year of getting in people’s gardens, growing that in-person connection and showing them how to care for their spaces with me right alongside of them. And so in-person networking feels like a good place to start with that intention. I’ll share more on how it’s going next year.
If you’re new here welcome, buckle up, because i’m here to challenge your beliefs around gardening, rest and remind you why it’s so important that as women we stop doing everything for everyone else and start doing more things that bring us joy.
So let’s start with the gardening shall we? Below are 5 mindful gardening activities each either just 5, 20 or 60 minutes long that can be fit around whatever else you’ve got going on in your life this week. So that you can find pockets of joy every damn day.
