Things to do this week in your garden- January Week 3
Mindful Gardening and Floristry activities to calm your mind and soothe your soul
I had every intention of getting out in my garden this week. I had the activities written in to my diary and everything. And then the temperature got knarly!
It was as my hands started to go numb whilst filming content in the garden this week, that I realised that it probably wasn’t the best idea to spend even 20 minutes in the garden pruning my apple tree or weeding a border.
Plants need the cold temperatures to ensure they have some downtime (sound familiar?) but they don’t really like being faffed around with while they’re actually frozen. Frost makes everything brittle so by pruning when the temps are -7, like they have been here, can risk damaging them.
So I took a hint from Mother Nature and stayed toasty warm indoors, planning and thinking about what I wanted my new border to look like. I’ve shared some of the activities I used to do this below, in case you’re hoping to add some more colour into your garden this year.
The same activities still need doing, so they’ve been rescheduled in my diary for this coming week. I’ll let you know next week how I get on!
