Things to do this week in your garden- February Week 1
Mindful Gardening and Floristry activities to calm your mind and soothe your soul
I have struggled to get going this week. I’ve sat down at my computer and found my mind wandering. I think because I’ve had a couple of exciting meetings which weren’t in my usual routine (more about those soon)!
I’ve finally worked out that my brain likes a routine, but one that has space within it to be creative and do things that feel good.
I have a weekly planning session online with my friend Maeve on a Friday. We start with a little catch up to see how our weeks have been, how well that week’s plan went, have a little laugh at ourselves for how much we thought we’d cram into that week (hello ADHD time blindness) and then we plan for the following week trying to take our learnings with us.
I add all my client sessions, time to write the Seed, create content for social media, school runs, swimming and pilates sessions and add my time to garden in too, even if it’s only 5 minutes that day because I have an unexpected meeting.
I do this for two reasons:
It helps me reach my goal for my garden that year.
It helps my brain know that it’s going to have some time to chill while i’m in the garden. That i’m making myself a priority even just for 5 minutes. So that I can keep growing my power in a world that wants me to sit down, stay small and shut up.
And i’m on a mission to help you do the same by getting intentional with your gardening practice this year.
The best way to start, is to get yourself a planner with space to time block each hour of the day (I like the big Circle Planner for this).
Upgrade to paid by clicking below, add this weeks activities to your planner and actually get out in the garden and do them!
Talking about it, thinking about it and scrolling the internet looking for inspiration will not get you the result you want.
The only way to reduce your stress levels, feel better and grow your power through gardening is to actually get out there and do it.
