Things to do this week in your garden- 10th December
Mindful Gardening and Floristry activities to calm your mind and soothe your soul
The butterflies were doing backflips in my stomach as I tottered down the uneven pavement wrestling with my umbrella as the wind did its level best to yank it from my grasp.
All the questions whirring through my head, ‘Will they get on?’ ‘What if the food is awful?’ ‘Was this a horrible mistake?’
As the warmth of the pub enveloped me I saw some familiar faces smiling and chatting and my worries dissipated.
I’d organised a ‘school mums Christmas meal out’ you see and I was the only one going who knew everyone, so I was feeling the pressure!
As we got drinks and sat down, I did a mass intro (which felt a little formal, but necessary) making sure to highlight who’s Mum everyone was, as well as using their actual name of course!
As we tucked in to delicious festive fayre the conversation flowed easily, laughter rang out as ideas for nativity costumes were shared and worries about reading books and spellings were voiced and normalised.
When I got into bed that night and my husband asked how it was, I felt that warm and fuzzy glow of an evening well spent and proud that i’d put myself ‘out there’ to bring such a wonderful group of women together. And to see them get so much from the time spent sharing tips, frustrations and laughter.
That’s why I feel so strongly about growing my community on here and why I offer paid subscribers to share their garden triumphs, trials and tribulations in the comments. So not only can I help them, but so that they realise they aren’t alone in their worries and things not going how they’d wanted them to in the garden.
If this sounds like the sort of place you’d like to hang out then come join us and you’ll also get access to weekly mindful gardening activities to help you feel calmer and more joyful all year round.
