Things to do this week in your garden- 31st December 2023
Mindful Gardening and Floristry activities to calm your mind and soothe your soul
The rain is pummelling the windows as the wind whips it back and forth across the garden. I had hoped to get out in the garden today, but our boiler is broken and without a nice hot bath and a warm house to come back into I don’t fancy voluntarily going out into howling wind and rain.
I’m hopeful the sky will clear tomorrow ready for me to sow my sweet peas (a little New Years Day tradition I have) but i’ll have to find a warm windowsill to start them off on as my new greenhouse isn’t being delivered until Tuesday. And then there’s the small matter of getting it erected in amongst all the other things we’ve got going on.
As with all of my garden ventures, it will take as long as it takes. I’ve learnt that it’s important to have a plan, but to be flexible with that plan so as not to beat yourself up about it when life gets in the way.
If you fancy having a plan and some structure to your gardening in 2024, as well as somewhere you can come to ask advice about your garden then upgrade to paid to have suggested mindful gardening activities sent to your inbox each week so you can actually see progress in your garden and feel better for it too.
This week’s activities are some of my most favourite ways to say goodbye to one year and get excited about the next.
