Things to do this week in your garden- 8th December 2024
Mindful Gardening and Floristry activities to calm your mind and soothe your soul
I’m writing this bathed in the twinkling light of our newly erected Christmas tree. As the famous song goes, the weather outside is frightful and whilst not even I am brave enough to get out in my garden in this, I did have a real yearning to embrace some nature this weekend.
So we headed out into the ferocious wind to the local Christmas tree farm. And spent time judging different trees on their spindly tops and unbalanced bottoms, until we found one, that despite its wonkiness, we felt would be at home with us this December.
It’s the unpredictable weather that makes me really grateful that I garden little and often.
Imagine if I’d told myself I would spend this weekend pruning and clearing the garden only to have the undeniable effects of global warming scupper my much longed for time in Nature.
Instead of feeling calmer, more relaxed and ready to handle the Christmas chaos, i’d be thrown into complete overwhelm about how much there is to do in the garden and i’d be feeling so frustrated that I wasn’t able to get it done.
That’s why a membership to the Seed is so powerful- it gently encourages you to tackle gardening tasks throughout your week and in little pockets of time that you carve out just for you. Because bloody hell you deserve it- even more so at this time of year when things are so full on.
If you want to start gardening little and often as a way to reduce garden overwhelm then I highly recommend upgrading your subscription or sending the link in the pink button below to your partner/ mother-in-law/ parents so they can give you the gift of knowing what to do in your garden and when, all year round.
If you’re after something that’s completely bespoke to the plants in your garden and you’d love a visit from me once a season to show you how to prune, propagate and care for the plants you have then book yourself on to the Seasonal Sessions.
I also offer gift vouchers that can be put towards any of my services so do have your loved ones email me (kendall@adventureswithflowers.com) if feeling confident that you know what you’re doing in your garden, is on your list for Santa this year.
This week’s activities include things to do to ensure your plants survive the storm and come back next year as healthy as can be!
