Things to do this week in your garden- 29th September 2024
Mindful Gardening and Floristry activities to calm your mind and soothe your soul
Best laid plans and all. Last week was my work free week (something new i’m trialling that I wrote about here) and so guess who’s been juggling a sick child all week. Yes thats right its me. I could get really fucking frustrated about my week off being derailed by yet another school illness, or the amount of extra brain power I’ve had to put in to re-jigging my plans for the week, when what I really needed was a break.
But where would that leave me, even more angry and in need of a break than before probably.
It’s reinforced my belief that you don’t need to have a completely free week in order to take time for you. I’ve leant heavily on my 5 minute mindful gardening activities this week to give my brain little pockets of relief here and there.
I’m going to keep persisting with my one week off a month (there can’t be that many illnesses surely?!) but I know that i’ll be needing to continue with my mindful gardening activities on a weekly basis to ensure I keep my stress and anxiety levels at bay and that another ill child doesn’t mean the delicately balanced juggle coming crumbling down around me.
If you feel like you’re juggling constantly and you’re one unexpected incident away from it all coming toppling down then the best thing you can do for your brain is 5 minutes of quiet a day. I’m not gonna tell you to meditate because lord knows its never worked for me. But short yet effective mindful gardening activities do.
And the best bit is that when you keep doing them over time they keep your stress levels low and allow you to cope with whatever life throws at you.
Come and give this weeks activities a go. Choose the annual option when you upgrade to build that compound effect over a year with my support. Plus you save a bit of cash too!
