Things to do this week in your garden- 4th August 2024
Mindful Gardening and Floristry activities to calm your mind and soothe your soul
I want to talk about disappointment.
It’s a natural part of life right, if we put ourselves out there, try new things.
This week I’d promised to take my eldest to London to the Natural History Museum to see their new gardens that they’ve just created.
We got to the train station, both of us excited for a days adventuring together. And then the train was late, and then the next train was late, and then all trains were cancelled until at least lunchtime due to a signal failure. (It actually ended up lasting all day!)
I explained we’d have to pivot and go to London another day. My daughter burst into tears, wailing that this was the worst day ever. The upset lasted while we trudged back to the ticket office to claim our refund and continued as we ambled home. She couldn’t understand why I wasn’t as upset as she was.
I explained that I was just as upset and disappointed as she was, but that as an adult I’ve learnt to take a deep breath, calm myself and find another way to make the thing happen.
And yet I still find myself not trying new things, not putting myself out there for fear of disappointment that it won’t work out. So I guess as much as i think i have it all figured out, I really don’t.
I finally managed to distract her with some ripe blackberries we found along our walk home and we spent a lovely afternoon watching Inside out 2 with friends.
So in the spirit of trying new things, I have a favour to ask. I had some gorgeous new flyers designed for my business (see below) and i’d love to get them out there in the world.
Do you have a local coffee shop or any shop for that matter that allows you to leave flyers or posters where the following type of women frequent:
Women who are squeezed on time but who want a gorgeous garden
Women who want to inject some colour into their garden
Women who are wanting to get out in their garden more
Women who are more interested in using their garden to quiet their mind than creating a show garden
Women who are craving simplicity and a plan
Women who want more time for them as they grow their gardening confidence
Women who want to stop relying on guesswork
Would you be up for me sending you some to leave in there?
If so reply or comment below and i’ll be in touch!
And if you’re looking at those points and saying, ‘hmmmmmm that’s me’ then either get in touch with me about working together 1:1 or upgrade to paid below to DIY it with this week’s mindful gardening activities.
