Things to do this week in your garden- 3rd November 2024
Mindful Gardening and Floristry activities to calm your mind and soothe your soul
I don’t want to sound too British but ooooh the days are really getting dark aren’t they?
I took the kids to the park at 4pm yesterday and the light was fading so fast. I’m a sun lover, give me blue skies and a bright shining yellow ball in the sky any day. It re-energises me and makes me feel like I can handle anything.
So the minute the clocks go back and we start to lose hours of daylight as the days shorten I can feel my mood dropping. I have less energy, I can be a complete narky bitch if i’m really honest and that’s even before I start to feel really under pressure about all the things I need to do for Christmas.
But I have found the perfect solution to combat my low mood and get my body and brain the hours of sunlight (read daylight) that they need.
Time in the garden every day.
Just 5 minutes some days. I am not a fan of gardening in the rain, but there are some days when I have no choice so I tog up and get my butt outside. While I’m out there I can practically feel the energy flowing from the soil into my body, turning me from a slightly sad looking, rotting, discarded halloween pumpkin into a version of myself that feels excited to see what the day has to bring.
A big focus of my 1:1 programmes is on helping you find time in your day to create a regular gardening practice so that you can feel energised and excited by your garden. But if you prefer to DIY it with a side order of inspiration from me then becoming a paid member of the Seed is for you.
This weeks activities include the must grow plant so you can keep cutting brightly coloured bunches for your bedside table right through until November and an activity that will not only get the serotonin coursing through your veins but will keep your soil in tip top condition too.
You can upgrade here to give them a go.
Did you know I offer gift subscriptions to the Seed? Click the pink button below and send the link to your Mum/ partner/ Sister and ask them to get you a year of support in your garden and some much needed time for yourself.
Let’s get into this weeks activities shall we?!
