38, years on the planet. 10 years since I had my burnout episode which means it’s 10 years since I started using gardening to quiet my mind and stop myself feeling overwhelmed and stressed nearly constantly.

10 years ago I was at rock bottom, went to my doctors to ask for help only to be told that I didn’t meet the criteria. I felt desperate for a few days and then the stubborn bitch inside of me thought, fuck this. If they’re not going to help me, i’m going to help myself.

The Seed is a reader-supported publication. To receive new posts and support my work, consider becoming a free or paid subscriber.

So I gardened, because despite my brain feeling fried, I instinctively knew that regularly getting my hands in the soil was healing me. Back then I didn’t have kids and so my non-working time was completely free to do whatever I wanted. In true ADHD stylee I threw myself into gardening in a big way. Bought all the books, doing all the research, trying out what worked and what didn’t and let me tell you now, I made a lot of mistakes and wasted a lot of money.

Not only do I not want you to get to the state I was in before making a change to help yourself to feel better, but I want to stop you from making the same mistakes I did.

One of the blockers for you getting in the garden is that you feel like you don’t have time. So there’s no way on this earth that you’re going to want to waste your precious time trawling YouTube or reading endless books written by people who have no idea what its like to live your life.

That’s where I come in. I’ve done all the research and experimentation so you don’t have to waste another pound on a load of plants that won’t survive in your garden.

My tried and tested process Plan, Create and Care that I take each of my Create your Dream Garden clients through means that you’ll know exactly what plants you need to buy before you even step foot in the garden centre. Garden centre overwhelm be gone!

Plus my life looks very similar to yours, juggling a busy job with caregiving, doing more than our fair share of the domestic load and knowing that we need to make doing something for us a priority. So you can be sure when I say I get it, I really do!

I currently have space for 3 more clients in this high touch completely bespoke programme.

In case you’re not ready for my all-singing, all-dancing support package then why not get started in your garden with this weeks mindful gardening activities.

Paid subscribers can ask me anything about their garden in the comments or via DM right here on Substack, so if you’d benefit from picking my mindful gardening brain for less that a £1 a week then upgrade to paid today.
