When you're craving some order
My house and garden right now is organised chaos, ahhhh who am I kidding it's just bloody chaos. And here's what i'm doing about it...

An accurate representation of the inside of my brain RN.
Writing a list
Whether its a plant that desperately needs deadheading, some kids clothes I need to list on Vinted that the baby keeps on getting out of the bag for life, no matter how many times i’ve packed them away, or the bindweed that is currently threatening to engulf my greenhouse.
They are all going on the world’s longest list, so I can forget about them until the kids are back at school.
I have literally zero headspace right now, so there isn’t a cat’s chance in hell they’re happening before the middle of next week
Putting that list into some sort of order
The most pressing things (er greenhouse where are you??) at the top and the least pressing at the bottom.
Cross off the ones you know you’re never gonna do and ask someone else to do them, or don’t bother.
I mean, i’ll always prioritise time in my garden over time spent cleaning my house purely because of the delicious dopamine hit it gives me after spending even just 5 minutes with my plants.
Getting someone to hold me accountable
Hello darling husband of mine :) Although i’m pretty sure he’ll be delighted to see the back of the 3-6 month baby clothes too.
Whether its the ADHD or just because i’m overwhelmed but I need someone to gently enquire as to whether i’ve done the thing i’d promise myself i’d do.
In fact I don’t even need them to ask me, I just need to know that they’re going to.
Nothing like the knowledge that someone expects something of me to make me take action!
Which is why i’m going to be running my Signature gardening and floristry for wellbeing course live in The Mindful Gardening Club starting next week.
I’ll be supporting members to take their garden from bland to bold and brightly coloured in just 12 weeks and i’d love for you to join us. Because I want you to have the garden you’re craving and I know that you need someone to help you get there. That someone is me.
