I feel super inspired by this thank you! I have a question… I want to plant some seeds but not sure what would be good to start with, and need to get some compost I think as well so wondered if you have recommendations?

So delighted Adventures with Flowers TV LIVE inspired you to get growing!

If you want to grow food, then definitely choose some things that you will actually want to eat. Some that are popular with my girls are cherry tomatoes (you can get lots of gorgeous coloured varieties) and they are super easy to grow.

Flowers wise I always love cosmos- easy to grow and make a real impact in the border. Ammi majus is a beautiful whimsical plant, as is Nigella (Love in a mist) and they self seed in the garden (will save you time next year). If you want a plant that is going to be guaranteed to come back every year then I love growing Rudbeckia from seed.

Compost wise- you can buy seed sowing compost from the garden centre- but it's more expensive and personally I don't bother. I buy peat free multipurpose compost and then have a mindful moment breaking the clumps up with my fingers and picking out any large bits of stick etc. I also mix through some vermiculite as this improves the water retention of the soil- means you don't have to water your seed trays quite so much- ideal for us busy women!

I have a masterclass called Seed Sowing for Success which goes into more detail on equipment, how to sow seeds etc and shares my time saving tips plus you can actually sow some seeds along with us. It's linked here: https://www.adventureswithflowers.com/mindful-seed-sowing-for-success-masterclass

Let me know how you get on 🌱🌸
